Celestial Fan Box results (and a surprise) ✨

The results of the Celestial Fan Box, unlocked in the depths of Sunday night, are now IN. The winning upgrade is the two-sided dust jacket for protecting all of your BackerKit Exclusive editions.

As some of you guessed, we had one last trick up our sleeve.
✨As a final thank-you, we'll be including the "Florin Gets Dressed" side comic IN each book, every edition, for all to enjoy. ✨

We couldn't have done this without you, and you all deserve only the best from us.


What comes next for the DCC: Crocodile campaign?

Well, first and foremost, please expect us to stay in touch! We'll be making regular updates to keep you all informed on what we're getting up to, but here's a general sketch of what the next steps will be for this project:
  • We'll prepare to send out surveys for everyone to review and complete their orders. We're estimating that we'll have these out before the end of this year, likely this very month.
    IMPORTANT NOTE: we'll be charging all shipping costs later in the process. We'll let you know when that moment arrives! 
  • We'll continue production on the comic, of course, but will also being production on the other rewards once we have that info from the surveys in hand.
  • Once we're close to fulfillment, we will confirm your addresses and collect shipping costs at that point.
  • If you've got any issues with or questions about your order, please submit to those to [email protected] and we will take a look!

We'll be managing fulfillment with our incredible partners at Vala Marketing, so a big yay for them and all their help in making sure that you all have the smoothest fulfillment process possible. 
 

What comes next for Dungeon Crawler Carl?

One big thing... the DCC Volume 2 and 3 Hardcover Kickstarter is ending this week!! If you backed at a physical book tier, it is NOT too late to back the Kickstarter and grab your amazing bonus sticker sheet. You've got a whole four days left to ponder the princess, so... start pondering!

  

What comes next for Vault?

Aside from riding our fleet of crocodiles off into the sunset, we've got some other stuff cooking up in the background. You're a bunch of highly-motivated smarties, so you could always give us a follow and be the first to be notified of the next projects we're working on... but as always, we'll be sharing more soon.

Good morning...Just a quick one from us, today!

Celestial Fan Box options... revealed! 

Last night, backers unlocked the Celestial Fan Box preview. We've got some solid choices for you to pick from when this box unlocks, and you've got a few hours to ponder which one you're going to choose!


Your choices are...
  1.  UPGRADE: A double-sided dust jacket with a new art option--the standard book cover art on one side, and Crocodile Florin on the other--will be added to all DCC: Crocodile BackerKit hardcover exclusive editions. This upgrade applies to all BackerKit hardcover exclusives contained in the Gold Tier and up, as well as any add-on copies.
  2. UPGRADE: The “Art of the Crawl” Concept art digital PDF will be included in all tiers, not just for reservation backers. Additionally, a limited selection of character concept art from the PDF will also be printed in every edition of the book, increasing the total page count 
  3. BONUS: “Florin Gets Dressed” digital comic short will included as a digital-only reward for backers of every tier
  4. YAMHAMMER: Backers will have the option to replace the entirety of their rewards with a yam. 

New add-on poll

Last night backers also unlocked our final add-on poll. That's linked below from you, and includes some new patch designs created by Brett Bean that were never used in the actual comic. But, we'll be offering it here to fans, but only for today, so place your vote if you're interested!

Final achievements 

We've got only three final achievements to chew over while we pick this level clean of it's remaining loot!

Celestial Fan Box update

We're still right on track for unlocking the Celestial Fan Box. It will likely unlock Saturday night PST, so we'll be ready and waiting with your hard-earned poll if (WHEN) we hit that. You guys have gone above and beyond for this campaign and this is definitely going to be your hardest choice yet to make... whatever you choose, you deserve it completely!


Reservations deposits now applied!

Many of you heard that loud banging noise yesterday around this time when our funding number dropped down a few stories. Not to worry! That was actually the thousands of Reservation deposits, placed way back in September, finally being applied to all reservation accounts through our friends at BackerKit.

Reservation backers, your deposit will now have been automatically applied to your account. BUT, if you see any funny business, do drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll look into it as soon as we're able.

Suggestion: if you were a reservation holder who did NOT yet pledge, there's still juuuuust time left to do that (might we suggest that beautiful, super-upgraded Gold tier?)
 

Achievement adjustments, plus our final Achievements are live~

Since we had that unexpected application yesterday (and because a certain NPC was a bit late to post our unlocked add-on), we've made the "preview the Celestial Fan Box options" achievement a bit more weekend-friendly. At 26,262 backers, we'll reveal the Celestial Fan Box options.



We have also released our final remaining Achievements for this campaign so you can all complete your Loot Box sticker sets... Good luck!

Crew, you've made it through another long day and night, and to the end of the Legendary Fan Box voting period.  🥳 Gold and up tiers... congrats on your BackerKit exclusive hardcover colored edges! 🥳 This upgrade treatment is going to look amazing alongside your upgraded foil and spot gloss. If you're not in the Gold tier yet, there's truly no better time to upgrade.

Even better... we're officially over halfway to unlocking the Celestial Fan Box.

Because the Celestial Fan Box unlock is time-based, we didn't want to leave you hanging any longer than we have to. We'll post our Celestial Fan Box options for your discussion and strategizing when we hit the new achievement goal, below!

Backer number achievements creep up while you're holding the door open for new folks to find us, so we'd expect this to open sometime tomorrow to give you all a full day to ponder your options. And, why not, we'll throw in a new poll for you to vote on a bonus add-on patch design as well.

Oh, and last night we ALSO unlocked a BONUS sticker added to the Loot Box add-on sticker set! You'll now get 4 stickers, including the 3 normal and newly-added❗ shiny Celestial M ❗ when you pick up this add-on. NOICE.


What about today, though? oh yeah, evil.

We won't leave you hanging! We've got a special, NON-achievement unlock coming, just to commemorate the DCC: Crocodile BackerKit community. It has nothing to do with the book or DCC, honestly... it's just for fun. Because we do that around here 🐟 

This add-on has an evil unlock condition; we'll post a new add-on when our funding amount "taps" or catches up to the current Kickstarter funding amount. We're pretty close... about 3k away! We got permission from their campaign to set a catch-up as a goal, so we give them mega thanks and, as usual, suggest you check the KS campaign out as well.

Last but not least, a huge thank-you to the Crawler community. We're just gonna keep saying it! We gave a shout-out on BlueSky yesterday to the top three folks commenting and organizing (at the time of posting... the list is always in flux!), but know that the leaderboard in our heart has got every one of you on it! Our crowdfunding friends would never derail our choo-chooing. Huge thanks for BackerKit for changing their maintenance date just for us🐊 and accommodating the NIGHTMARE EXPRESS! 

Unlocks for days

Like Carl, we are absolutely crushing goals with our sparkly little toesies left and right.

  • Yesterday you unlocked the LEGENDARY FAN BOX, and the voting is closer than we've ever seen it before. We trust you all to make the best decision before the timer runs out. We know many of you are taking these upgrade opportunities seriously, so there's a Q&A thread pinned in case you have any questions to ask to make your best choice! 

  • The BENEFACTOR BOX opened late last night at NPC time. NPC had to get out of bed to open the box properly. NPC is tired but very excited for you all to see the incredible upgrades:
      - All existing and future bookmark orders have been doubled
      - Gold Croc Box and up get a bonus postcard
      - DCC: Crocodile standard hardcover editions are now spot-glossed
      - DCC: Crocodile BackerKit exclusive hardcover editions are ALSO now spot-glossed in addition to that foil you already unlocked in the Bronze Fan Box! 

  • We didn't even have time to properly announce this one before you crushed it... Our next achievement unlock WAS to open up a new sticker pack add-on--the long-requested Loot Box pack, designed, of course, by Brett Bean. The pack was unlocked just a few hours ago, and currently contains a Bronze Croc Box, the Platinum Croc Box, and the original Legendary Croc Box. I say currently because... 

  • Our NEXT achievement unlock adds another sticker to the sticker pack! We already know this goal is going to get hit at some point, so it's more of a way for us to say thanks and stuff an extra sticker in there for you.
  • Last but not least, the CELESTIAL FAN BOX remains in play. We are, at the time of posting, a little over 50 hours in to our 135 hour goal. Keep the train chugging, and the final round of truly sweet upgrades will be yours. 

  • You're probably suspicious about the next few days and if there are any more achievements. GOOD.

Another amazing Sanderson shout-out

The G.O.A.T. has given our DCC projects another shoutout 😭 We'd be remiss not to scream about it just a little 


Speaking of the DCC Hardcover Kickstarter, don't forget to back that one too! We'll be ending at some point (theoretically), and the Kickstarter will be not long behind, so that clock remains ticking! And, reminder, you can get the sweet Donut sticker sheet when you back both at a physical book tier.
