This has been one of the most fun campaigns we've ever run, and we hope you've had a great time as well. You've unlocked 9 add-ons (10, if you count the NYCC Issue #0 second printing you voted for), opened 4 Fan Boxes, saved the campaign from Borant, and most importantly, you've raised awareness of Dungeon Crawler Carl in an unprecedented way and opened the door for even more graphic novel fun in this universe.

From the entire creative team, sincerely, thank you for your support of Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile.

The fun doesn't have to stop here

If you've got the dime, we've got the time! BackerKit allows us to continue the campaign into Overtime Mode,  PAST it's scheduled ending date as long as the Backer Train remains unbroken. There are over 2,000 folks in the current train, and if we keep it going, the rewards keep stacking up.

FIRST: the Legendary Fan Box opens once our Backer Train extends a full 24 hours post-campaign (so, it would open at 10am PST on Tuesday, November 4th). This would add a whole new slate of great FREE options to vote on that will increase the quality of your books and rewards.

SECOND: the Celestial Fan Box opens if our Backer Train is able to beat the previous site record of 5 days, 18 hours, and 40 minutes. This countdown also begins as soon as the campaign "ends" today at 10am PST.

THIRD: you've attracted the Vaethon Industries Benefactor Box. If we hit 25,000 backers on this project at any time before Overtime Mode runs out. This Box contains MORE than one bonus upgrade in it. These are NOT add-on unlocks... these will be more free improvements benefiting several tiers and items. A tough goal to hit, but also another big reason to back.



Easy ways to keep this Backer Train choo choo choo-ing

  • Pledge to the campaign, if you haven't already!
  • Add one of our amazing add-on items to your pledge. Item additions to your cart DO count towards Backer Train extension, so now's a good time to make sure you've got everything you wanted, especially since many of these go POOF once the campaign ends for good.
    Encourage other DCC readers to cross-back from the DCC Kickstarter (and grab the free sticker sheet reward!)
  • Share a reminder from a Vault Comics social media post
  • Post about the campaign to Discord, Reddit, or another online hangout
  • Go outside and tell someone you know IRL about DCC: Crocodile
  • Get your pilot license and skywrite about DCC: Crocodile sometime in the next few hours
  • Climb into the enclosure at your nearest zoo and give the largest crocodile you find a sawed-off shotgun to help promote the project through viral engagement
  • Fill the nearest active volcano with glitter. When it goes off--the biggest glitter explosion the world has ever seen. As you're being arrested for environmental crimes in front of several news cameras, mention the campaign. Super easy!

Believe it or not, you've already kicked so much ass that scientists will have to create a new unit of measurement to accurately describe how much ass you've all kicked. Worst of all, for all other campaigns coming after this one, we're not even done yet.

Our Backer Train Overtime Mode challenge begins TOMORROW at 10am! This is completely optional, of course, but if you want a crack at that sweet, sweet LEGENDARY FAN BOX (and even sweeter CELESTIAL FAN BOX), you can join the campaign past our official end to keep the train chugging.

W-wait, there's more?

Reward: a new add-on unlock! You little bastards didn't even have to do anything! We're getting soft, aren't we.
If you hadn't seen it already, we've got a Final Day gunmetal sticker add-on unlock for you! As you might have noticed, we LOVE colors, so this is a special item for those who have been looking for an alternative look to rock that isn't so heavy on the hot croc vibes.

Reminder: add-ons count towards Backer Train extensions! If you want to help out post-campaign, this is a great little item to add to your cart at 3:45am to keep the train going, like all the normal people do (yes, we see your god-tier shift organizing, Crawler AruZeta).

But wait... there's MORE.

This campaign has attracted the attention of a benefactor!

WOAH. This is big. It seems that you all have attracted the attention of a Benefactor! The hideous corporate overlords at VAETHON INDUSTRIES are considering sponsoring THIS campaign. It's going to take a lot to impress them, but even the lowest tier Benefactor Boxes contain some incredible rewards... it's rumored that this Benefactor Box might even contain multiple free upgrades.



It's going to take everything we've got to open it, though. So the final days of this campaign are your chance to spread the word about DCC: Crocodile to anyone who might have missed out and reveal the contents of this new box.

WHEW. Thanks to everyone for helping to free us from that Borant takeover last night. It gets kinda nuts around here! But thanks to your hard work, we can share the unlock conditions for the final two Fan Boxes. These are posted below and in the "Fan Box" section of the front story page, which is always kept as up-to-date as possible.

The conditions are:
🎁 LEGENDARY FAN BOX unlocks at: sustain a 24-hour Backer Train PAST the scheduled end of the campaign on November 3rd, 10am pst (sustain train until November 4th, 10am PST).
  Voting is NOT yet live for this unopened Fan Box.

🎁 CELESTIAL FAN BOX unlocks at: surpass the all-time longest Backer Train record of 5 days 14 hours and 40 min set by the Gloomhaven campaign (sustain a continuous train until November 9th, 12:40 AM PST)
   Voting is NOT yet live for this unopened Fan Box.

The final 2 days of a campaign are often among the busiest, as folks who prefer to wait until the last minute come trickling in. More importantly, folks who see that the BackerKit Exclusive books are going to get blinged out even further may want to consider bumping up a tier before that door closes. After all, there IS a reason that Gold Croc Box tier is the most popular pick so far. Just make sure you're not stuck holding your tail once this level collapses.

ALL ABOARD the Nightmare Express Backer Train

We're also 48 hours away from boarding our Backer Train which, when sustained for a certain amount of time, will open up the final two Fan Boxes. We'll be posting a little video message from the guys saluting you before you all embark on this final journey for the DCC: Crocodile campaign... bon voyage!

Fan Boxes vs Add-Ons?

We had some questions about what exactly is the difference between the unlocked Fan Box items and our Add-Ons! To recap: Fan Boxes are team goals that, once hit, unlock the box and kicks off voting. The most popular Fan Box reward gets applied for free, automatically, to the item or tier(s) selected. So these are pure bonus for backers--you worked hard to unlock these rewards, so enjoy them!

Add-ons are completely optional items that you can add to your reward. Not all of these add-ons are going to be to everyone's liking... for example, you might be a pure book-reader, or a sticker enthusiast, or maybe you just wanted a simple bookmark. No pressure! Just add whatever you want while the campaign is running. Most of these items ARE limited to this campaign, though, so we lied; just a little pressure.

Another fun fact: Adding add-on items to your order will extend a Backer Train. A Backer Train is created when a continuous line of unbroken backers makes a pledge to the campaign. This info might come in handy in the case of our next Fan Box that relies on Overtime Mode: the Legenda--
